AI & AGI research, grounded in evidence.

Investigate useful questions about capability, reliability and transfer. Make the method and limits as clear as the result.

Questions worth testing

Focused questions are easier to investigate than broad claims about intelligence.

Reliable answers

Does an answer stay supported when documents change, conflict or lack the requested fact?

Tool use and recovery

Can a system recognize a failed operation, recover without duplication and stop at its permission boundary?

Transfer to unfamiliar cases

Does a method still work with a new layout, product variant or task wording?

Human decisions

Can the person using the output understand its source, limits and the next action?

AI and AGI: define the question first

AI is a broad field. AGI concerns much more general and transferable capabilities; definitions differ. Generating content or using tools alone does not establish general intelligence.

A proposed experiment: document revision transfer

Can an assistant follow the current approved procedure when an obsolete revision is also present?

Hypothesis: explicitly identifying the applicable revision and testing missing-information cases may improve source selection compared with a simple prompt baseline. This is a hypothesis to test, not an observed improvement.

  1. Prepare permitted, versioned source documents and held-out questions.
  2. Compare a simple baseline with the proposed retrieval approach.
  3. Keep the task fixed while changing revision order, layout and irrelevant content.
  4. Score source selection, claim support, escalation and access separately.
  5. Record repeated runs, failures, configuration and sample size.
  6. Decide whether the evidence supports another experiment, a pilot or stopping.

The output should be a reproducible evaluation packet. A favorable screenshot or one successful answer would not establish transfer to every document or setting.

What a research note should contain

Make it possible for a reader to assess the evidence.

Question and baseline

The exact capability being tested and the reference approach.

Data and method

Permissions, dataset composition, held-out cases and configuration.

Results and limits

Scores by condition, failure examples and conclusions the test cannot support.

From research to a useful pilot
